In January of 2010 we created two Sub-Committee's to smooth the way Events are organized at the Park.
The Park Society and the Show Sub-Committee.
The Park Society is the group who deals with the political side of being a Society. We work closly with the Fraser Valley Regional District on all things concerning the Horse Side of the Island 22 Park. We have signed another Management Agreement with the FVRD and we have worked together to create a new Fee Structure and Park Rental Schedule.
Crunching numbers with our Treasurer we have raised enough funds to do some upgrading to the cross-country course for the BC Chamionships this Labour Day Weekend, more work on the riding rings, Stadium Jump repairs, and footing work. We have a few fundraisers planned to top funds up to add more to the front riding ring and purchase some much needed equipment.
The Park Society is the main core of people who do the physical work required down at the park.
We are always looking for people willing to help and are often short-handed where the physical work is required. If you have some spare time when you can help with Spring Clean-up or event set up in May and August any minute you have to spare will not be turned away. We are often out there rain or shine.
If you are interested in being a part of the Park Society please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Andrea at 604.798.0303
