Mt. Cheam Pony Club Branch Report - 2009 Season

2009 saw Mt. Cheam with 19 members in the branch.

January was busy with riding lessons and quiz study sessions.
February, we finished our riding lessons, quiz lessons and  13 members attend the Regional Quiz. Our C1 team of

Victoria, Jessica and Brianna placed first. Our D2 team of Haley, Samantha, Larissa and Ceara placed second. Our D1 team of
Deana, Marissa, Marabeth and Shannon placed first, and our E team with Kaitlyn, Sophia and Layla placed first. We also had
some individual firsts: Samantha placed first for D2, Deana placed first for D1 and Sophia placed first for E level.

March saw our club members spend the month at Island 22 for major clean up of the park. April we held our annual event and members also wrote their written tests for their levels.

In May, we sent 10 members to the Regional show jumping competition. June, we had 5 members test for D1-D2. July we

had 2 members test for C2, and Brittany Froc finished her RA and now has her full A. In July, we sent two ABC teams to Rally.

They did a great job as both teams had to share one captain.
Between the two teams, the members came home with top captain, top groom, second and fourth in stable management and team one

placed first overall and team two placed third, plus the riders all placed in their divisions as well. A great time was had by all.

In August we had some members attend the dressage practice day hosted by BCLM, and others were busy showing at horse trials, Thunderbird, and more.

The Regional Dressage show was held in September at Island 22, and our club sent 9 members. Four of our members had never
ridden a dressage test, but with many practice days, they placed very well, taking many top placings.

Registration this month saw 21 members for the new 2009-2010 season. We lost two to college and gained four new members.

2010 is shaping up to be a very busy year !!!

Our annual event will be held at Island 22 on April 24 - 25, 2010.
